Tuscany, our marvelous region, offers a plethora of beautiful destinations for day trips. Many of its renowned cities of art can be reached from Mandri. First there are its most famed art cities, Florence, Arezzo and Pisa, and then the smaller, refined gems that are among the prides of Tuscany: San Gimignano, Volterra, and Siena, with its “Palio delle Contrade” medieval horse race on July 2 and August 16, draws hundreds of enthusiastic fans every year. Our location is midway between Florence and Arezzo, making it easy to reach all of these unforgettable sites. The neighboring Chianti Classico territory is worth special mention. World-famed Chianti wine comes from this DOCG area, officially delineated between Arezzo, Florence, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato, and Siena. Now that the area has been officially recognized as a Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin, the wine's value has skyrocketed. Many Chianti-focused exhibitions take place throughout the year. We suggest three itineraries to see Tuscany's cities of art. For more information ask at our reception.
